  Research activities to produce new engines
In addition to the improvement of current engines performance, Motorsazan co. has also took actions to design and produce new engines according to customers needs and technical and legal standards (Items 6&8 of EFQM model). 

The activities of this section can be classified into three groups.  

1- Manufacturing of engines which satisfy world emission standards requirements. 

2- Manufacturing of higher power and higher torque engines in comparison with the base engine 

3- Providing necessary instruments and equipments for research centre of Motorsazan co.

1) Manufacturing of engines which satisfy world emission standards requirements:

One of the obligations which engine manufacturing companies face it is that their engines (agricultural & industrial) must be in accordance to the emission standards. Considering this subject and in order to reinforce its export basis, Motorsazan co. takes actions to manufacture engines according to emission standards. Engineering research dept. by studying, working out the primary needs and obligations, sharing in persona el experience and consulting with university masters, has been succeeded in this field. The important of them are as follows:

1-1. Designing a new type of engine i.e.: MT4.244 agricultural engine, with 82 bhp and emission standard of stage II.

1-2. Decreasing exhaust pollution of Perkins diesel engine, phaser 135Ti to EURO II.

The above mentioned projects are applied in mass production of MT4.244 and 135Ti engines.

 

2) Manufacturing of high power and high torque engines in comparison with base engine:

The other requirement of customers is an engine with low fuel consumption and high performance in comparison with base engine. This Subject is the other goal of Motorsazan co. and engineering researches group succeeded in manufacturing of MT4.248 Extra engine with 82 bhp ( The power of the base engine i.e.: Perkins 4.248 Agr. Engine is 72 bhp).

The other projects are being carried out along with the goals mentioned in articles A & B are as follows :

- Designing of agricultural 4 cylinder engine with increased power to 105 bhp and emission standard to stage II.

- Designing of agricultural 4 cylinder engine with increased power to 85 bhp and emission standard to stage III A.

- Designing of agricultural 3 cylinder engine with increased power to 48 bhp and emission standard to stage II.

- Designing of agricultural 6 cylinder engine with increased power to 130 bhp and emission standard to stage II.

- Designing of generator 4 cylinder engine using natural gas (N.G) with 38 KVA power.

- Designing of 4 cylinder diesel generator with emission standard to stage II.

 

3) Providing necessary instruments and equipments for the research centre of motorsazan co:

In order to reach the goals mentioned in articles A & B (b1& b2), it was necessary to equip research centre with sufficient and suitable tools and sets.

Research facilities of Motorsazan co.

1- The Possibility of carrying out emission and performance tests of diesel and gas engines with automotive, industrial, agricultural, generator and other applications with different diesel fuels or NG-CNG- LPG fuels according to valid standards and different test conditions.

2- Two units of 400 kW and one unit of 700 kW test cells equipped with EDDY CURRENT dynamometers with digital data systems

3- Gas analyzer in order to measure engine's emission

4- Engine smoke measuring instrumentation, adapted to 3 different standard methods.

5- Engine consumed air mass flow meter

6- Engine consumed fuel mass flow meter

7- Instrument for measuring engine blowby

8- Instrument for measuring and analyzing the pressure of combustion chamber and other key parameters of engine designing

9- Instrument for measuring noise radiated from engine

10- Instrument for testing fuel system of diesel engines, including atomizer, injection pump and high pressure fuel pipes tests

11- Instrumentation for accurate measuring of different parts of engine, including measuring devices of CMM, Form Tester, crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft and so on

12- Instrument for hardness analysis and examination of materials and parts

13- Calibration devices and instruments (about 8000 controlling gauge)

All the above mentioned equipments and instruments are modern and updated and adapted with recent technologies from leading and distinct manufacturers.
